These five come straight from the engine. Connect a wallet and they read your real position in the vault; with no wallet connected they stay at «—», and with nothing in the Mortar they read a real zero. EST. CURRENT GRIND is an estimate by definition: your share moves while a Grind is running, so the figure is only final at settlement.
Leave the Mortar before this Grind settles and this Grind is forfeited. That applies to a full exit only. A partial withdrawal does not forfeit it — it just lowers your eligible stake by the amount you took out, and the rest settles normally. And an exit is not a ban: stake again before joining closes and you are back in this same Grind, counted on what you put back. The figure above is an estimate, never a guarantee — the denominator moves while the Grind runs, so it is only final when the Grind settles.
Once a Grind settles it is compounded into your position and it is yours permanently. You never have to claim it to keep it, and unstaking later never takes ground PESTLE back. Settlement is permanent.

Buybacks are the machine working — they land whenever the fuel hits the threshold. Settlement is the machine reporting: every four hours the Grind closes, the numbers lock, and the next one starts immediately. The Mortar doesn't sleep.
This strip is the engine talking. It reads 🔥 THE MORTAR IS GRINDING once there is something in the Mortar or a buyback has landed in the current Grind, and ● MORTAR STANDBY when there is not — recomputed from the vault's transfers on every poll, never asserted.
Mortar Pressure is one thing only: fuel accumulated toward the next buyback threshold — so 100% means BUYBACK EXECUTED, not «settlement is near». It fills more than once inside a single Grind, and it is never a countdown in disguise. The fuel figure is the vault's live ETH balance; the meter only appears once a buyback threshold is configured.
One giant buy at settlement would leave four hours of dead air. Instead the Mortar buys whenever the fuel reaches the threshold, so the machine is visibly working the whole way through, and settlement stays what it should be: the official checkpoint where the final amount is calculated and locked.
Your entitlement is not re-cut every time a buy lands — only the estimate moves. The threshold is configurable rather than hardwired, because the right size depends on liquidity, slippage and gas. It will be published when the engine goes live.
Every settled Grind writes one immutable record — fuel, buyback transactions, PESTLE bought, total eligible stake, grinders, and what every position received. That record is what makes «watch it» mean something. Not one has been written yet.
The YOUR GRIND column is the settled amount that Grind paid your address, derived by the engine from the same snapshot it settled the Grind with — a record, not an estimate. With no wallet connected it reads «—», and a Grind that ground nothing reads a real +0.
Records are set, not written. Each of these reads «—» until a real Grind beats it — the engine returns nothing for a record nobody has set. This is how the Mortar gets a history worth arguing about: «Grind #39 was insane» only means something if #39 actually happened. Longest streak is not on this board because the engine does not publish it yet, and we would rather leave it off than guess it.
A streak is the number of consecutive Grinds you were eligible at settlement. It buys you a title and nothing else — your Grind is decided by your share, never by your status.
Fed the Mortar. Entered the Mortar. Left the Mortar. Grind fuel detected. Buyback executed. Grind complete. Real chain activity is the content — so until the vault's first transfer lands, this feed shows the format and labels every line as exactly that.
Written by the Mortar from the vault's own transfers — buybacks, entries, exits and settlements, newest last. While there is no activity these lines show the format only, and say so. Nothing here is invented.
Pro-rata, and nothing else. No base rate, no multiplier, no duration coefficient, no tier. The more PESTLE you keep in the Mortar, the more of every Grind you own — and the numbers above are an arithmetic example, not a forecast and not a record of anything that happened.
